USA TODAY High School Sports Awards

The top high school athletes and coaches in the country were celebrated July 31 at the 2022 USA TODAY High School Sports Awards. NFL legends Rob Gronkowski and Vernon Davis hosted the annual national awards show, and they handed out Player of the Year awards in 29 sports, as well as a number of special awards.  
If you missed the live awards show, don’t worry – you can still watch!

Nominees are selected through statistical analysis, game coverage and coach/athletic director feedback. 2021-22 national nominees will be linked under their associated sports after they are made and premier award nominees will be contacted directly. Show Celebrity Hosts

Hosting this year’s national High School Sports Awards will be none other than former NFL legends Rob Gronkowski and Vernon Davis. Tune in at EDT on July 31st to catch the show!

About Rob Gronkowski

Gronkowski, who recently retired from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is considered one of the greatest tight ends to ever play professional football. He’s a four-time Super Bowl champion, five-time Pro Bowl selection, a four-time First Team All-Pro selection and was named to the NFL’s 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.  

About Vernon Davis

Davis played for three NFL teams during his career, including with the San Francisco 49ers from 2006-15. He won a Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos during the 2015-16 season and was a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2009 and 2013) and was named second-team All-Pro in 2013. He was the No. 6 overall pick of the 2006 draft out of the University of Maryland.

The USA TODAY High School Sports Awards is the largest high school athletic recognition program in the country with 26 regional programs and one national awards program! Each regional program selects the best athletes in the area and names athletes of the year for each sport. Special awards are also given.
